GUIDE TO IMMIGRATION LAW

There are temporary visas for different businesses and employment purposes.  Some visas require people to have a definite intent to leave the U.S.A. after their period of temporary stay.  Other temporary business/employment visas allow a person to have “dual intent”, an intention to leave and a possible intention of settling permanently.

Among the dual intent temporary visa categories are three important visas by which people may initially come for a temporary period, but later qualify for permanent residence.
